holiday closure

love to celebrate is taking a holiday!! The shop will be closed until Thursday 27 January 2011.

Upon our return we look forward to bringing you plenty of great new products and inspiring you with fun ideas for all your 2011 celebrations.

christmas crackers

At love to celebrate we are BIG fans of Southern Cross Crackers and so are our customers!!  But these world-renowned crackers are not your ordinary crackers. From simply chic to simply spectacular they are handmade and hand-decorated by skilled artisans therefore making each cracker a work of art. Every year they are our most popular Christmas item in the store and one of the first seasonal items to sell out!!

This year we have selected some beautiful designs from the range including these classic red and white boxed sets of 12.

These fabulous individual crackers are perfect when you have an odd number of guests or when you just need to add a few more to your boxed set.  This year we have two classic colour options – red or silver.

One beautiful design we just couldn’t resist stocking at love to celebrate this year is this colourful one called “London Chintz”.  We LOVE the buttons and bows as well as the gorgeous patterned papers – very reminisent of English designer Cath Kidson.

Another new style of cracker we are stocking this Christmas at love to celebrate is called “Fill-Your-Own”. These boxed sets of six come in a classic Christmas tree design and allow you to add your very own little treat.  Just imagine the fun you could have personalising each guest’s Christmas cracker!! Snaps, jokes & crowns are included.

feeling festive

It is always a challenge at love to celebrate to go straight from Halloween into Christmas!! So to help get us in the festive spirit we created this fresh new window display using red, white and lime green!! We think this combination is perfect for a Southern Hemisphere Christmas or December celebration!!

We are currently in love with Sambellina’s new lime green polka dot plates (cups to come soon!!) which look fantastic teamed with their ever popular red & white combination.  The new red & white striped square plates are also perfect for the festive season and work well with the polka dots.  Polka dots & stripes really are a classic combination that never dates!!

trick or treat

We had a great time “Trick or Treating” in our local neighbourhood again this year.  Unfortunately a VERY heavy storm hit right at the peak of the festivities!!  But despite being soaked to the bone it was not enough to dampen our spirits or ruin the event!!  Thank you to everyone for participating and for making it a safe and happy Halloween.

all dressed up

Here are a few fun images of our customers wearing the Halloween costumes & accessories which they purchased at love to celebrate!!

Our good friends at Vision Personal Training Lindfield  also embraced Halloween.  They dressed up last Friday morning and tried to scare all their clients!! Great job guys!!

halloween at the shop

We can’t believe Halloween is over for another year!! At love to celebrate we had so much fun!! On Halloween morning we opened the shop from 11am – 2pm and set up a sweet treat table in front of the shop to raise money for both breast cancer & brain cancer which are causes close to our hearts.

Our resident baker Louise (pictured middle) cooked up a storm in her kitchen the night before preparing wonderful treats such as the bone-shaped meringues, pumpkin cupcakes, whoopie pies and chocolate cookies.

We also had some wonderful spooky cakes from Kiss Me Cake and delicious cupcakes from My Little Cupcake which we decorated with our Halloween cupcake picks!!

Thank you to everyone who came along to support us.  We appreciate your generosity and support and look forward to seeing you again soon!!

fun faces

We love these inspiring Halloween costume ideas which basically take a ”touch” of face paint and some simple accessories which most youngsters have in their “dress up box” or wardrobe…or that can be purchased at love to celebrate!!

The list of possible Halloween costumes is almost endless and it seems these days anything goes!!  Fairies, cartoon characters, animals, characters from books or movies, historical figures, pirates and super heroes always seem to play a starring role!

But so too do costumes which scream “HALLOWEEN” such as witches, wizards, monsters, zombies, devils and the likes. What costume are you wearing or making this Halloween??

{client celebration} teddy bears’ picnic

We have so many wonderful clients who come to love to celebrate to purchase their party accessories.  Some come looking for inspiration not knowing where to start while others come with their checklist  in hand and a well laid out plan to orchestrate a wonderful celebration.

Recently a delightful and very talented mum called Lara came to us with her shopping list of items for a teddy bears’ picnic which she was organising for her daughter Lily’s second birthday. Lara already had the complete concept in her mind and knew exactly what items she needed to purchase from love to celebrate to create her magical party. The items we were able to help her with included pink & white striped retro paper straws, cupcake baking cups, cupcake stands, recycled glass bottles, balloons, ribbon, candles, plates & cups!!

Take a look at the these beautiful images Lara sent to us showcasing all her hard work!!

How cute is that teddy bear cupcake? So simple yet so effective.

Congratulations Lara for creating such a wonderful celebration not only for the birthday girl but for all her guests too!  And…for sharing all the details with us.

At love to celebrate we LOVE these Halloween cakes from the very talented Sonia at Kiss Me Cake so much that we have ordered a selection for our very own Halloween celebration!!  We have asked Sonia to personalise ours so they co-ordinate perfectly with our fun Halloween napkins .

If you are celebrating Halloween whether it be a simple get-together or a birthday party why not “treat” your guests to these delightful miniature works of art.  We can assure you they not only look great but they taste DELICIOUS too!!

supermarket treats

At love to celebrate we LOVE scouring the supermarket each Halloween to find lollies and treats which work well with our theme and colour scheme before searching any further.

This week while doing our weekly shop at our local supermarket we found this great selection of goodies which tie in perfectly with this year’s colour scheme – orange, black, lime & purple!!

Last year we found some fantastic orange & white M&M’s for our lolly jars which were also orange in flavour… and DELICIOUS!!  We are yet to find them again this year but we are sure they are out there…somewhere??
