little men & big men

The old saying goes…”blue and green should never be seen!”  But, at love to celebrate we always add our own little ending and say, “blue and green should never be seen… except with something in between!!” And in the case of our newest window display which we installed today that “something in between” is chocolate brown!!

We used our delightful new “Little Man” invitations and tags from Poppiseed Designs as inspiration and gathered lots of gorgeous blue, green and chocolate brown accessories we have in the store to fill the window.  We also used a collection of partyware products from some of our favourite suppliers such as Sambellina, Contents: Party + Christmas + Home and Specklefarm which  ALWAYS seem to fit into our window displays perfectly!!

Last year for a Father’s Day brunch we hosted at home we cut out cute little paper ties and attached them to our guests’ napkins.  So today we incorporated this little idea in the window by attaching little blue and green ties (which we cut out of the VERY versatile Paper Eskimo bunting flags!!) and pegged them onto brown paper bags (our Sambellina brown craft treat boxes would be perfect too!!).  These would not only make cute lolly bags for your “Little Man Party” but are perfect little take-home gifts or place settings for your Father’s Day celebration.

And with Dad’s special day rapidly approaching (eeek…it is on this Sunday!!) we couldn’t believe that our cute little Father’s Day cupcake picks were THE perfect match!!

At love to celebrate we think blue and green is a great colour combination and definately should be seen…with or without something in between!!

Happy Father’s Day!!!

a royal wedding window

At love to celebrate we are counting down the days until the Royal Wedding of Kate Middleton & Prince William!!  In fact for the past couple of weeks we have been dreaming of wedding dresses, high tea, scones & jam, cupcakes,  fine bone china, kitsch wedding souveniers and the Union Jack!! So in honour of the happy couple we decided to pay tribute to this royal occassion with a very “British” window display!!

This week we were very luck to have a friend bring us some “authentic” Royal Wedding memorabilia fresh from the London High Street in her suitcase!!  How cute are the little wind-up Queen and Prince Phillip which we have placed on top of our beautiful wedding cake from Sonia and her team at Kiss Me Cake!! We thought they “topped it off” nicely!!

The girls at Kiss Me Cake  never fail to amaze us with their beautiful cake creations so we also commissioned them to create these gorgeous little treats to mark the occassion!! Just perfect for British Royalty!!

Are you as excited as we are about the Royal Wedding?  Are you staying home next Friday night to watch the wedding broadcast? Or are you hosting your very own Royal Wedding themed event?  We’d love to see some photos if you are hosting an event!! Please email them to us at lovetocelebrate@iinet.net.au and we will showcase some of the best in the first week of May…or in other words when the happy couple are on their honeymoon!!

baskets, buckets & bunnies

At love to celebrate our Easter stock is hitting the shelves and is now on display in our front window!! This year we have some great containers to display your eggs or to collect them in during your egg hunt.

Some of our favourites include these cute tin buckets which come in a variety of colours including white, yellow, pale pink, hot pink, lime, pale blue, dark blue & red.

These mini tin buckets are a great size for the little ones. They are perfect for filling with small eggs or lollies and would make a fun gift for friends, family or the teacher!! They have a small wooden handle and are available in white, pale pink, yellow, pale blue & hot pink.

Easter just wouldn’t be the same without baskets so we hope you like these simple natural cane baskets as much as we do!! This classic shaped basket is perfect for egg hunts or for giving as a gift filled with eggs and tied with a bow. Stocks of these are limited!!

Due to popular demand our gorgeous grass bunnies are back again this Easter!! We absolutely LOVE these little guys and think they look very smart with a lovely Easter-inspired ribbon tied around their neck!! But make sure you get in quick as they are sure to once again be hopping out the door!!

love is in the air…

At love to celebrate we always LOVE “dressing the window” for February as we prepare for one of our favourite celebrations - Valentine’s Day.  For us this celebration on 14 February comes second only to Christmas as it combines three of our favourite things – hearts, the colour red and chocolate!!  xoxoxo

take a look!!

As our Halloween goodies have been arriving we gathering inspiration and trying to work out exactly what to put on display in our front window.  Last year we had a FABULOUS Halloween cake by Yogi at Sweet Dreams Cakes and lots of jars filled with lollies!!

This year we wanted something a bit different even though there are many, many wonderful images of Halloween themed dessert tables and candy bars travelling around the blogoshpere. We aren’t sure if this window will last the entire month of October but we thought it was a fun place to start!!

While the traditional Halloween colours- black and orange – still play a starring role in our decor and decorations this year we have also decided to add touches of purple and lime green where possible.

Our favourite felt “Trick or Treat” flag bunting which proved extremely popular with our customers last year is back in stock as are lots of other goodies!!

30 days and counting…

Yesterday we received this fantastic Halloween calendar from a special friend of ours in the United States (thanks Jill!!).  We had our fingers crossed that it would arrive in time for the first day of October for us to start counting down the days to Halloween…and it did!!

Just like the traditional Christmas Advent calendar there is a pocket for each day of the month. Tomorrow we are going to fill each pocket with a little treat (or trick) and the first customer who visits us and says “Trick or Treat” each day of October will receive whatever is in the pocket of that day!! There will be just one treat each day so if you are in the neighbourhood pop in and don’t forget to say “Trick or Treat”!!

celebrating dads

Many schools and preschools celebrate Father’s Day with a breakfast as well as providing all the fathers with a portrait of themselves created by their child.  This Father’s Day we decided to have a bit of fun along the same lines in our front window.  One of  love to celebrate’s best friends who is a Preschool teacher asked her class to paint some portraits to hang in our window.  This gorgeous class is currently studying art so it was a perfect opportunity for these little artists to also showcase their masterpieces.

We wanted to “tie” the Father’s Day theme together so we thought a great way to do this was to raid a couple of tie cupboards and use a variety of patterned ties to hang the portraits.  We are so pleased with the final result!!

It has been so delightful this week  to watch the faces of people walking by – ALL ages – some have stopped to look, some have just glanced, smiled and continued on their merry way while others have even opened the door to tell us how much they LOVE our window.  Thank you.

But the BIGGEST thank you must go out to the Kindy Red artists who have shared with us their talents…and their dads!!  We really hope your dads love their portraits as much as we do!!

And from all of us at love to celebrate to all the dads, grandads and great grandads out there we say-  Happy Father’s Day for Sunday!!

we are dreaming of…

Christmas in July!!  Yes, this cold winter weather is just perfect for a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings!!

Each month at love to celebrate we showcase a different theme, celebration or special event in our front window so this month we have decided to embrace the increasingly popular Australian tradition of celebrating “Christmas in July”.

Why not invite your family and friends over, crank up the oven and set the table. We have teamed our fabulous eco-tableware with traditional festive touches such as brown paper, pine cones, twigs and berries along with some Christmas baubles.  And don’t forget the crackers. What Christmas table is complete without them!!

We love the simplicity and elegance of this year’s handmade delights from our friends at Southern Cross Crackers. These gorgeous little works of art add the finishing touch to any table and their novelty contents are sure to provide lots of fun for you and your guests.  We can’t wait to share more beautiful crackers with you later this year!!

Happy Christmas… in July!!

world cup fever

At love to celebrate we are celebrating the fact that Australia has made it to this year’s FIFA World Cup in South Africa with a window full of green and gold.  This is only the third time in history that the Socceroos have qualified for the tournament and on Sunday 13th June Australia will play their first match of the competition against Germany.

Why not invite a few friends or your soccer team over to watch the match and get into the spirit with our great soccer-themed plates, cups and napkins teamed with lots of green and gold!!

Soccer-themed partyware is one of our most popular ranges especially in winter when it is soccer season here in Australia.  Drop in and see our extensive range of soccer-themed accessories which include fun things like banners, whistles, mini soccer balls, bubble baths, keyrings and candles.

Go Socceroos!! Go!!

monster mania

We have just received our new Monster Mania range of partyware from the USA and we LOVE it so much we have set up a cute little monster party in our shop window.  The range includes invitations, plates, cups and napkins as well as fun accessories such as monster flag bunting, masks, stickers, lolly bags and a happy birthday monster foil balloon.

We think this monster party is more fun than scary.  Monster Mania’s bright colours  co-ordinate well with lime green, blue and purple accessories and will therefore ensure it is appealing to both boys and girls!!
