little men & big men

The old saying goes…”blue and green should never be seen!”  But, at love to celebrate we always add our own little ending and say, “blue and green should never be seen… except with something in between!!” And in the case of our newest window display which we installed today that “something in between” is chocolate brown!!

We used our delightful new “Little Man” invitations and tags from Poppiseed Designs as inspiration and gathered lots of gorgeous blue, green and chocolate brown accessories we have in the store to fill the window.  We also used a collection of partyware products from some of our favourite suppliers such as Sambellina, Contents: Party + Christmas + Home and Specklefarm which  ALWAYS seem to fit into our window displays perfectly!!

Last year for a Father’s Day brunch we hosted at home we cut out cute little paper ties and attached them to our guests’ napkins.  So today we incorporated this little idea in the window by attaching little blue and green ties (which we cut out of the VERY versatile Paper Eskimo bunting flags!!) and pegged them onto brown paper bags (our Sambellina brown craft treat boxes would be perfect too!!).  These would not only make cute lolly bags for your “Little Man Party” but are perfect little take-home gifts or place settings for your Father’s Day celebration.

And with Dad’s special day rapidly approaching (eeek…it is on this Sunday!!) we couldn’t believe that our cute little Father’s Day cupcake picks were THE perfect match!!

At love to celebrate we think blue and green is a great colour combination and definately should be seen…with or without something in between!!

Happy Father’s Day!!!

a royal wedding window

At love to celebrate we are counting down the days until the Royal Wedding of Kate Middleton & Prince William!!  In fact for the past couple of weeks we have been dreaming of wedding dresses, high tea, scones & jam, cupcakes,  fine bone china, kitsch wedding souveniers and the Union Jack!! So in honour of the happy couple we decided to pay tribute to this royal occassion with a very “British” window display!!

This week we were very luck to have a friend bring us some “authentic” Royal Wedding memorabilia fresh from the London High Street in her suitcase!!  How cute are the little wind-up Queen and Prince Phillip which we have placed on top of our beautiful wedding cake from Sonia and her team at Kiss Me Cake!! We thought they “topped it off” nicely!!

The girls at Kiss Me Cake  never fail to amaze us with their beautiful cake creations so we also commissioned them to create these gorgeous little treats to mark the occassion!! Just perfect for British Royalty!!

Are you as excited as we are about the Royal Wedding?  Are you staying home next Friday night to watch the wedding broadcast? Or are you hosting your very own Royal Wedding themed event?  We’d love to see some photos if you are hosting an event!! Please email them to us at lovetocelebrate@iinet.net.au and we will showcase some of the best in the first week of May…or in other words when the happy couple are on their honeymoon!!

love is in the air…

At love to celebrate we always LOVE “dressing the window” for February as we prepare for one of our favourite celebrations - Valentine’s Day.  For us this celebration on 14 February comes second only to Christmas as it combines three of our favourite things – hearts, the colour red and chocolate!!  xoxoxo

happy australia day

INTERESTING FACT: Did you know that it wasn’t until 1994 that all Australian states & territories consistantly began to celebrate Australia Day as a public holiday on 26 January?

Today we not only celebrated Australia Day 2011 but also the last day of our summer holidays!!  A fun backyard bbq was the perfect way to celebrate with family and friends. Lamb cutlets and sausages were followed by a traditional pavlova and lamingtons!!  The only thing that was missing from our celebration was a game of backyard cricket!!

Happy Australia Day.

{client celebration} teddy bears’ picnic

We have so many wonderful clients who come to love to celebrate to purchase their party accessories.  Some come looking for inspiration not knowing where to start while others come with their checklist  in hand and a well laid out plan to orchestrate a wonderful celebration.

Recently a delightful and very talented mum called Lara came to us with her shopping list of items for a teddy bears’ picnic which she was organising for her daughter Lily’s second birthday. Lara already had the complete concept in her mind and knew exactly what items she needed to purchase from love to celebrate to create her magical party. The items we were able to help her with included pink & white striped retro paper straws, cupcake baking cups, cupcake stands, recycled glass bottles, balloons, ribbon, candles, plates & cups!!

Take a look at the these beautiful images Lara sent to us showcasing all her hard work!!

How cute is that teddy bear cupcake? So simple yet so effective.

Congratulations Lara for creating such a wonderful celebration not only for the birthday girl but for all her guests too!  And…for sharing all the details with us.

celebrating bar & bat mitzvahs

We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with one of our fantastic clients to create two very special Jewish celebrations – a Bar Mitzvah and a Bat Mitzvah.

The Bar Mitzvah was a Willy Wonka themed evening which was absolutely AMAZING!!  We LOVED the fantastic lollipop cushions which lined the entrance all the way up to the large candy bar table which was filled with jars and jars of Kosher lollies flown in from the USA.

The orange, purple, red and green colour scheme on the tables and chairs was bright but worked brilliantly to bring the theme to life.  These colours were repeated in the 900 plus helium balloons which floated on the ceiling and created a magical atmosphere.

Black, hot pink and a touch of bling were the colour scheme for the 13 year-old girl’s Bat Mitzvah!! 400 helium-filled balloons floated on the ceiling above the tables and dance floor.  We particularly LOVE the attention to detail in both themes.

the more the meri meri

At love to celebrate we are so excited to have just received our new shipment of Meri Meri paper party products.  You may rememeber it wasn’t that long ago that we were “ooohhhing” and “aaaahhhing” over their divine themed centrepieces as well as their cupcake decorating kits.  Now we have invitations, napkins, plates, garlands and lolly bags to match the ballerina, princess, pirates, dinosaurs and animal parade designs.

One of our favourite additions though has to be the 3D Space Cadets Party Pack.  This delightful themed kit will blow your little astronauts away like rockets when they see the robots and spaceships – in REAL 3D!  The pack includes plates, napkins, a themed garland and 12 very cute sets of 3D glasses – they’ll bring the robots and rockets to life!!  You can continue the theme with party bags, a themed cupcake kit and the amazing talking spaceship centrepiece.

The popular Tweet, Tweet, Fairy Wishes and Ready, Set Go Cupcake Kits are now back in stock and have been joined by new designs such as Eat More Cake!! and Groovy Party.

Bonjour les amis!! France is celebrating Bastille Day today so we couldn’t let the day pass without paying tribute to one of our favourite countries and to thank them for sharing with us such delights as Champagne, croissants, baguettes, cheese and macaroons (yes, at love to celebrate we are ruled by our stomachs…and tastebuds!!) as well as haute couture, perfume, the Eiffel Tower, Claude Monet and the Tour de France…just to name a few!!

Here are a few more images to inspire you to host your very own French celebration.  Just think how delicious the menu could be!

Bonne fête les amis chers!!

happy 1st birthday

It was one year ago today that one of Australia’s premium partyware ranges Sambellina was launched.  A HUGE congratulations must go to the very talented Kate who is the brains and creative talent behind this stunning range.

We can’t believe it has already been a year – we can still remember our very first Sambellina delivery and how excited we were to open the boxes and see all those beautiful polka dots!!

At love to celebrate we LOVE everything about the Sambellina range (especially the polka dots)  and we are so excited to hear from Kate that she will soon be introducing additions to the fill-in range of invitations along with new party stationery and tableware!!

We can’t wait to see all the new Sambellina products and we look forward to showing them to you as soon as they are launched next month.

Congratulations once again Kate and…

 HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY SAMBELLINA!!
